A Holiday at Home

Who said you have to spend lots of money or travel distances to go on a holiday? Here are some ways you can have a holiday without leaving the comfort of your backyard.

1. A Relaxing Soak in the Tub

Light some candles and add some aromatic essential oils to a hot bath in the comfort of your own tub. Let your body soak in the warmth and soothing effect of the essential oils.

3. Spend a Quiet Evening in the Hammock

Everyone needs a hammock for those quiet evenings where you can relax in the shade. They're great for catching up on those "Z's" you've been missing out on during the working week. Grab a crossword puzzle or a favorite book and let the afternoon gently slip by.

4. Go For a Sunset/Sunrise Bike Ride

Bike riding is an excellent way to get your blood circulating. It is also relaxing for the mind, allowing you to unwind as you glide your way through the beautiful countryside. An excellent time to go for a ride is in the coolness of the morning or afternoon, right on sunrise or sunset to take in that beautiful glow.

5. Chill Out in the Pool

If you have a pool, now's the chance to make the most of it. The weather is still warm and it's great exercise without the strain. Feel the coolness of the water against your skin and the warmth of the concrete against your arms as you rest against the edge. Just don't forget your hat and sunscreen!

10. Jot Down Some Memories or Project Plans Over a Hot Cuppa

Take the time to jot down some precious memories in a journal over a steaming cuppa. Journaling is good for your memory and it can also be a good method of relaxation. It is also proven, according to Better Health Channel (VIC), that, "drinking tea can slow down certain cancers and protect against heart disease." (Better Health Channel, 2016). The antioxidants also help keep us healthy, boosting our immune system and helps with slowing down the aging process. So with that, there's no reason not to put that kettle on and kick back for a little while.
